The more satisfied an employee is, the greater their chance of sticking with the company for a longer term. Famous companies like Google and Pixar have creatively designed workplaces and hence have a higher success rate.

Our perception of the environment helps stimulate our minds and motivates us to think creatively. Imagine yourself outdoors, sitting on green grass, where birds are chirping, and the sound of water is babbling is in the background. Does that give you a sense of calm? Being environmentally friendly is a vital part of office layout. A greener environment reduces stress, advances employee wellbeing as well as productivity, resulting in greater profits for the company. One study shows that if employees are satisfied with their environment, 50% of them would be more willing to work an extra hour a day.

Another thing to keep in mind – natural light is useful for the work environment as well. It enhances the imagination; boosts energy levels; and lessens eyestrain, headaches, and seasonal affective disorders, which consequently increases competency.

Color and Space

Colors play a significant role in eliciting an emotional reaction and challenging parts of the brain. An office with plain gray walls will not extract an energized response. Offices designed with colors like blues and reds are soothing and refreshing. Your office layout should not be too energizing or too plain. Neutrality is necessary for the balance in the environment because it will increase creativity and productivity.

Of course, personalization of space should also be encouraged. This allows employees to express themselves at work; leaving room to come up with new, innovative ideas, and feeling like they can openly share them with the rest of the office.

Orderliness causes less stress and helps the person remain focused on their work. It is an essential aspect that nurtures creativity.
